The most common 3D printing technology is Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) for Plastics which is used at Z3D.

Z3D uses Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) using different types of Plastics including PLA, ABS, PETG and TPU.

Currently limited to 36x36x36cm (LxWxH), however larger prints are possible by printing in smaller parts and assembling them together.

Z3D can print your parts as small as 0.15mm (length and width) and 0.05mm height.

Some compatibility issues can be present due to the shape of the design/model and program used. For example, most architecture 3D programs do not represent a solid object (just a surface), or are too thin to be printable. We will try to fix the model issues for compatibility, but some require the edits to be done by the designer manually.

Yes, there are several factors that will have an impact on the quality of the print as well as the cost.

1. Avoid overhangs with angles below 45 degrees and lengths of above 5mm. Otherwise, supports will have to be used which will significantly increase the cost of your print. As an example, follow this diagram to ensure no supports are used for your model:

2. When creating parts that should fit into each other, consider leaving at least 0.2-0.4mm clearance between them. This tolerance ensures that parts printed will fit without any modification or post-processing, which will save further costs for your print. Chamfering the tip will also help parts fit easier even if tolerances are tight:

When designing for 3D printing, avoid overhangs and impossible shapes to minimise the overall cost. Make sure that measurements and tolerances are taken into account for your models to fit together.
